In need of sympathy
I have been an Alfista since 1965 and have several Alfas.
Why do I need sympathy, well read on please,
Background to my saga I have an 1983 series 3 spider which developed an amazing failure in as much that the steering box casing split whilst reversing in the place where I work (a training centre for motor mechanics), I wanted to show my trainees "old style steeing box and arms.
I work alongside an accumulated pool of motor repairing experience which amounts to a collective 300 years and each and everyone of the lecturers have never seen such a catastrophic failure, the only good side, if there is one that the incident happened whilst not on the public highway.
You may say this that I was lucky in one respect but this incident follows a failure in my 156 V6 auto box which is also a rarity, the planet carrier hub for the diff broke after hitting a pot hole in the road.
Now if I only could get my hands on the person who sold me the lucky white heather.
Look out for the spider at the S I day on 25th May at Craigton Park.
The 156 by then will have had a exchange auto box fitted will be up for sale
Kind regards to all Alfistas
