New car, so I thought I'd join a new forum!
A few may know me from the "Keith's alfa-pages", as user Matt Stolton, mostly for 33/sud based stuff, as I owned a 33s2 1.5ti, upgraded to 1.7 GCL spec, a 33S2 1.7GCL as a doer upper project (actually flogged and made a profit!!). I then went really silly and spent two years restoring a white 33s3P4, which happened to have C&B cams and 180BHP!!
Unfourtunately, after 4 months of fun, a Cheroke jeep eat it on the M6.
I bought another P4 shell, but lost my way,as it had too much metal maggot.
I then got lucky and found a clean tidy, quick 164 S2 Cloverfleaf. Not so lucky with the abs, which couldn't tell the difference between being stationary, and all four wheels locked whilst doing 25 MPH into/through a lamp post.
I have promised the wife to be more careful, so she has let me buy, wait for it, drum roll, a 166 3.2 Ti, first registered March 2005!! Managed to pick it up for £7400!! It has got 103K on the clock, but it has a complete thorough service history, from supplying dealership till now, with only one owner. It has been well looked after with this owner, interior is mint, minor motorway style stone chips on the exterior. Just had new clutch, but engine is smoke free cold/hot and box is feeling nice. Overall sounds good!!
One daft thing, in its autotrader advert it mentions sat-nav. On inspection it hasn't (NAV button on ICS, but no cd drive). Is it easy to bolt the sat nav module into the gap above the CD player, does the wiring between drive and ICS exist as standard, and do I need anything else? I presume these appear on fraudbay or from scrappies? Any idea of what is reasonable to pay for bits.
I must sort out a signature rather than just type rubbish at the bottom of my posts
