Hello, I've purchased an Alfa GTV V6 TB (1996) one or two months ago.
It was on sale for 7000€ and I jumped on it
Full equip (leather, sunroof and the steering wheel in wood, wich is the only thing I'm not 100% sure i will keep)
Changed the stereo, puted a sony xplod and fine. I found the covers of the rear speakers were trembling with the bass, i puted some fuses (!) in the sides to press it until I find a real solution, but it works :-P
What a marvelous car!
I've been driven for ten years now, used many cars like WV Golf 4motion and a GTI, Seat Ibiza TD, BMW 745, and a Porsche 928 mainly... and the GTV is my first Alfa.
Ok, let's make it clear: I'M IN LOVE with this car!
The only one i've used who can compare to it is my father's porsche 928 (forget the BMWs if its not a M...really) and perhaps the honda integra type R of a friend of mine, but i don't really drove it much so I can only tale for my friends words... (or it's only envy
I must say the 928 has better brakes and more stability making S in the mountain roads we have here, but you know what?
I'm loving this capricious moves, this dinamics seem a little weird in the begining, when you don't know the car, but after readind about the suspension type and its capacity to slightly bend turning the back wheels first in one direction and then in the other, I understand why it seemed weird to me, but i'm really loving it now!
Before having my GTV, if someone asked me for the best car, i would answered that germans were the best cars, thinking in porsche mainly
but now, I really really think I must have a Ferrari one day
I really can say that i'll be an Alfa owner for the rest of my driving days (until I get a Ferrari, in wich case I'll take a Brera for the daily use if my GTV died :-P )
The first owner seam to be a pretty rich guy, this car was only 36000km when I took it (now it's 40000km: 4000km of pure Outrun pleasure xD ) and slept all it's life in the garage.
Last week I felt the brakes slightly diferent and I took it to Alfa to change the pads wich were about to die in 50-100km (25 in my case, i'm sure :-P ). And the guy in the parts shop was surprised to see one of these with the interior absolutly intact. (a rich guy, i told you
Now I'm searching for the best chip in the market for my red beauty and I guess the squadra seems to be the one to choose.
But I think i will change the brakes too with the chip, I would like some good ventilated disks in order to avoid overheat at any cost!
( I live in a mountain zone, with plenty of U-turns )
In the begining I was a little disappointed because it wasn't the V6 24V, but now, i'm really happy to have the turbo version for 3 reasons:
1- I pay less for the insurance :-P
2- I pay less for the fuel (and I already do a 17L/100km )
3- With the squadra chip, the TB boosts earlier than the 24V!! (wich is more important for me than the max speed, because reaching more than 160 in this zone is really hard unless you want to pay new braking pads every month
So i'm a happy man (much more when I'll have the chip changed but happy indeed)
And that's all, Thank you for reading
