Hi,
As you can guess 'Im new'

Ok, so for a while now I have fancied a Alfa Romeo (I think I get that from my old man who loves Alfa's but like has never got round to getting one), for the last 3years now I have been rattling (and I mean rattling) around in a Phase2 Citroen Saxo VTS 16v. Its been a roller coaster few years with plenty of ups and downs. But after 3years I think its time to move on. My Saxo changed alot over the 3years from standard to single seater stripped out road/track slag and now back to slightly modded.

About a month ago the bloke that has looked after my cars mechanically speaking mentioned his son was getting rid of his 156 1.8 twinspark. After a short talk with the missis who was fed up with the bone shaking ride and straight through group N exhaust we decided to have a look this weekend gone.

After 30mins I had left a large deposit and I pick it up next weekend lol.

The car in question is a W-reg Rosso Red 156 Saloon 1.8 Twin Spark.
I will be only the third owner which I'm quite happy about. There are a few things I'm not happy with, when the car was bought new the first owners (more than likely to make up for the fact they couldn't afford a higher spec'd car at the time) have fitted some nasty looking Team Dynamics (I think) 17" alloys which I want to replace with Alfa Telephone Dial alloys and a nasty Silver CD player. As its a low spec'd car it is also without the very nice side seals which I really like.

But two little added bonuses where a rather nice Remus DTM back box which is very quite (which the missis really like lol) and the brake callipers have been totally removed and sprayed Red which looks nice.

The owner is also throwing in the high level evo spoiler which needs sparying but Im not sure I like it as it spoiles the nice lines of the 156.

Photo's will follow next weekend when I pick it up, but expect to see me floating around asking lots of questions about all things Alfa

So till then thats about it

-- edit --

While your waiting for pic's of my 156 here is a few of my VTS if anyone is interested lol

(Sorry the files seem alittle to large to show but seem to work fine once clicked on)

The car is lower around 35mm on Pi suspension with upper and lower braces at the front and a GroupA anti roll bar at the back. piper 4-1 manifold, sports cat, straight through custom exhaust into a custom GroupN style back box, 14 Pug 106 Rallye Steel rims are just a small list of mods. I'm not looking to do as much to the Alfa but a few things I'd like to carry over to the Alfa like a small suspension drop and some extra bracing to firm things up

Hello and Welcome

You made the right decision in getting rid of the Saxo for a 156! Congrats!

Re: New member

Really looking forward to moving back to a slightly bigger car, I know I be losing performance but I think I need a break from the get up and go of the VTS, its all to easy to get carried away and on long trips the drone of the exhaust, very very firm ride is a killer.

And besides its about time I had a good looking car again
