New member looking purchase GT

Hiya folks, Excellent site .

I've joined the site with a view to take some inspiration regarding the Alfa GT. I'm on the hunt for a new car, and really fancy that elusive beast- something sexy, frugal, spacious and reliable. Out of everything I've been looking at, the GT is by far the stand out candidate, and I honestly thought that finding one for 10k was a ridiculous notion - apparantly not so. I'll be looking for a club owners cars ideally, but will certainly take my time in looking. Thanks for having me and prepare yourselves for the bombardment of questions I have.

Thanks,

Hoppo.

Re: New member looking purchase GT

Thanks mate,

I love the V6...A LOT, but offsetting that against the higher insurance, increased fuel, higher tax, loss of wife, costly divorce etc.....wouldn't be good mate

My GT is also up for grabs, to make way for the new 3.2 V6 Brera !!

Take a look http://www.alfaowner.com/Forum/alfas...selespeed.html (2004/54 Alfa GT 2.0 JTS Selespeed)

Re: New member looking purchase GT

Thanks for the kindness/info folks.
If it was down to me, I'd have a V6 or 2.0 tomorrow, but I've got to balance the financial thing to be honest. The 45+ MPG and grp 15 of the 1.9 JTD is the attraction. I don't do astronomical mileage, but I commute around 25 miles to work and back each day and probably clock up another 200 miles weekly doing all sorts of other general running around. I've had a good scout on t'internet and there are (what seem to be) very good, well looked after, low mileage GT's that are well worth a look for between 9 and 10k, so I know I'll get a belter for up to 10k. Waiting for my damn remortgage to come through hence the initial research. Starting to build up a bit of a question base now so will start posting them in the relevant areas.
Thanks guys.

PS,
GTLeigh, your car is absolutely gorgeous - stick a diesel engine in it and you've got a deal mate
