Hi there, this is my 1st post so Hello!
I hope somebody can help me.
I have lovely 156 import from holland with factory styling i havent seen in the UK.
Problem is, my gear linkage recently snapped and my local garage want £520 + VAT to repair it. They say that the box needs to come out and be sent away because the linkage has an elbow that is worked into the innards of the box. Then they reccomend a clutch, a service, cam belt, blah blah,,,,,,,,, I get the feeling they want me to buy a new car as they keep offering a trade in price against a new motor!
You can see the break when you look directly down at the box to the right of the engine block. Its like a flat arm that has just sheared apart. I really dont want to replace the car nor do i want to shell out the near £800 for box removal, repair and clutch replacement.
Does this sound right or are they having a laugh?
Thanks,
Darren
