Well Nigel, I last owned an audi as I said. And those Germans sure know how to build a comfortable, "user-friendly" car. And I swear if that air suspension wasn't flawed from the start I would have driven the allroad for at least 15 years.
I know alfas have always been more about the engine than the cabin, but the allroad was at a crucial stage (invest $4000 in fixing it or cut my losses) and the 159 was the best looking wagon on the market. And lets face it: looks are 90% of the reason we buy a car. Everyone I spoke to who had experience said alfas tend to have lots of ongoing issues so I am going to drive this sexy baby with my fingers crossed.
1 month into it and I already have some serious issues with the design of this car from a usability point of view, which makes me gravely fear that alfa have not "tried to match it with the big germans" with this evolution of their product, despite what all the car journos say.
Anyway, I'll bring up these gripes in appropriate forums, hopefully garnering solutions or workarounds to them.
phew, what a rant. Thanks for listening.
