Hi all,

Having decided that my P38 Range Rover wasn't temperamental enough for me I decided that I needed a fresh challenge and went and bought an Alfa.

It's a 2001 GTV TS Lusso in Vela Blue with Black interior. It's got a decent service history and has been parked up since 2010 when the last owner took it off the road because the timing belt was due to be changed and he wanted to some other work to it. Then he had kids and it sat, and sat, and sat until I purchased it off Gumtree for a very good price.

From what I can see it's rust free, but needs paintwork to the bonnet (lacquer lifting), the wing mirrors (ditto), and the rear bumper is cracked (but it came with a spare in need of painting).

Interior is very good nick except that the driver's seatbelt is frozen and won't retract, the heater blower moter doesn't work, and the driver's door won't open from inside.

It's been lowered (on Apex springs I was told), and came with the tools to change the cam belt and a poly bush kit.

After checking the cam belt which looked ok, I fired it up and it runs like a top.

All in all I think I got a bargain.

Welcome to AO & to Alfa ownership, congrats on your GTV, sounds like you've found a nice one

I hope it's a good 'un. The fact that it's been sat since 2010 did give some cause for concern. On the other hand, it means that it hasn't had any wear and tear since then. Given that I paid very little for the car though, and it comes with the polybush kit and the timing tools, I've little lose.

You definitely have the Alfa bug, well done. My 97 GTV is in the garage for now, and the reason why I was so attracted to it, was a trip to Italy in the nineties, when I saw a GTV for the first time. It was finished in Vela blue, but had a tan leather interior and looked fantastic. I think they may be a future classic.
