hello....insight and advice sought.....

Hi all......
I currently run a 1.9 Fiat Marea Estate and am thinking of changing to probably the prettiest car available - the 156.

I'm not bothered about road speed or power or levels of trim.....just interested in hassle free motoring (or least as hassle free as possible) combined with a good fuel return (am used to 50mpg) and I'd ideally get another estate car..........please could you offer some insight into the 156 that could fit my wishes.......thank you

Hello and welcome to AO
HAve a good read in the 156 tech lounge. Should give you plenty of insight into buying a 156. Good luck.

How about a Toyota Avensis!

No seriously, I reckon a 156 1.9 JTD Sportwagon would fit the bill.

Hello & welcome

I would say a 156 1.9JTD or 2.4JTD would fit the bill.

Re: hello....insight and advice sought.....

In a nutshell, one 'Private' owner, well serviced, and nominal mileage, the search begins. Got ours at 7,000 on the clock, she is a word perfect peach of a 147 Selespeed.: Would not have gone anywhere near a high mileage well worn example, in spite of what the pundits advocate!

Happy Hunting, and Good Luck.:

Re: hello....insight and advice sought.....

Hi all, thank you for the greetings and info.
I am really looking forward to finding a 156 car, there's very few road cars that interest me you see...
Likely I will look out for the diesel jtd's then.
Has anyone on here done an lpg conversion of a 156?

best regards,

Tim
