Golf GTI

Hi there

Hi,

New to the forum. Currently drive a Golf GTI. Always wanted an Alfa and am considering a 147 at the moment.

Cheers

Dave

Re: Hi there

Hi Dave!

I had a Golf Gti II, great little car. I moved on to the GTV and then Brera which are much much better; the handling is sweet and motorway cruising is a dream. But then the GTV and Brera were in a (slightly) different price bracket. I'm sure someone with a 147 will be along shortly!

Re: Hi there

Would rather have my 147 over a golf anyday, the MK1 GTI is a classic but treat yourself to an Alfa, you'll never look back.

Re: Hi there

Hi, I'd have the 147 over a golf too, not only because I've dragged a GTIMk3 and a VR6 (on a trailer) behind my 146 (better than a 147 anyway) across the Highlands several times, but when I had my VR6 and GTIs they were nothing but money pits, once you get an Alfa there is no real need to upgrade anything. They drive like a dream and in my last 10 years with Alfas I've only had one problem, and that was abelt snapping on a very high milage 155, Thing was going in for scrap anyway so I didn't care.
