Why an Alfa 159?

This may seem an unusual situation but I dont yet have an Alfa, but I am seriously thinking about it and who else to get advice from but those who own one?

I am in the process of deciding upon a new company car through contract lease and one of the options is the 159 2.4 JTD ti. It is my first choice for looks and not to mention the issue of the 210bhp engine. I have yet to test drive one later this weekend and cant wait. However, it will be a lusso rather than the ti so i expect that it wont look as good.

My choice of car is between the BMW 320d M Sport, the Audi A4 and this. The 320 is offering rediculously low emissions and an amazing mpg. I would be sacrificing this for the looks and feel of the alfa but is it really worth it. I am sick of, but concerned about the comments from people about the reliability of the Alfa's, is this defunct now?

Anyone please, help.

Alfa is as reliable as any other European brand these days.

Re: Why an Alfa 159?

Hi - 159 all the way You won't feel special in the Beemer and you would need to ensure that you were getting the new model A4 that is imminent as otherwise you'd have a dated car straight away You will never get bored of looking back at the Alfa in a car park! Get a good colour to show off the lines (black imo) and see if you can spec some 18" 7 hole wheels to make it look the part!

Don't be fooled though, the 159 will have teething problems (as mine has) but this is to be expected with any new car. I heard yesterday that 90% of new cars have at least one issue with them that needs sorting! I can vouch for that having owned over 30 new cars in the last 10 years and having problems with all of them (BMW & Porsche included)! Good luck with your choice!
