Hi all, just looking at these fora really. I've had 3 consecutive 5 series BMWs. Just wanted safe and reliable while the kids wre always with me. They have their own cars now so not such an issue.
I only registered as I wanted to see the pics of the gtv which went into the back of a ford fiesta at 5-10 mph, and was written off while the fiesta had only scratches.
I used to have an alfasud. (1983 ish) As I remember there was a handbrake recall on them so it went into the dealer near High Wycombe (can't remember where exactly) A few days later it rolled down the hill at High Wycombe hospital in the night, into the wall of the maternity unit. I sold it shortly after as I couldn;t then afford the insurance on anything other than a mini!
I still think of it as the best car I have ever had, fun wise, the noise and the feel. My BMW 5 series have been great, comfortable and reliable, but very german.
Modern alfas don't rust, but are they at all reliabe. My local dealer Northampton, is shared with a Fiat dealer, and to be honest is a bit shabby. I am probably a bit spoiled with Wollaston BMW in Northampton
I'm now thinking about a brera. Doesn't really make any sense, but I'm nearly 47 now so what the hell.
What do you think should I or shouldn't I?
