Hi, as Clarkson has been saying for so long, every petrolhead has to own an Alfa at some point in their life and that point has just happened for me having bought a new 159 at the end of December. It looks good in black with 18" 7 hole alloys and beige leather interior and overall I'm pleased with the car.
I have a bit of a disease as far as cars are concerned - I tend to change them too often! I had 4 cars last year, starting off in a Porsche Cayman S and ending up in the Alfa! The Cayman S purchase was to complete a lifetime ambition to take a fast car around the Nurburgring which I did in May - absolutley awsome and would recommend it to anyone! The Alfa is needed as a more sensible petrolhead car as my partner has a baby on the way.
I love the looks of the 159, especially from front-on. It looks mean and has quite a lot of presence! The metalwork does seem to attract small dents though, I've had 3 taken out already! Only one problem to date which started yesterday - the oil temperature warning keeps coming on at random times. I see from other threads that this is probably a sensor problem rather than anything major so I'll get it sorted this week.
Hopefully, I'll keep the Alfa long enough to enjoy it fully without too many issues!
I've only been a member of one other car forum, when I owned one of the new Minis, and that was good fun so I am hoping this forum will be just as useful. Many runs were organised through the Mini forum and I quite fancy another trip to the Ring in 2008 if anyone is up for it?!
