Hello from a new member..

Hello all - I've just signed up as I'm want to buy my first Alfa - names Andrew - mid 40's - wife & 2 kids living in the NE suburbs of Melbourne, Australia.

As far as cars go I've had a lot of different stuff all sold or traded in: Ford Anglia, Valiant Charger, MGTF160, a couple of MX5's NA & NB, BMW Mini Cooper S, Mitsubishi Lancer VR-X.

I currently own a SAAB 9-3 Vector SportCombi wagon and a BMW R1100S motorcycle for a bit of fun.

I'm keen to trade in the ever reliable SAAB and been to drive a 2007 Brera 2.2 JTS with selespeed - looks great and power is adequate if I can work out how to use the gearbox!! Drove a GT 100th Anniversay but it sold and was out of my budget really.

Anyway looking forward to reading up here and hopefully finding my very first Alfa.

Thanks for the top forum!

I've done the deal though not for the Brera - was too small and not very well looked after as it turned out by the PO...

So I've bought a 2007 Alfa 159 JTS Selespeed Sportwagon in Blue (not sure what the colour is called but I'll work it out). ~58,000 klms with one owner and FSH from a reputable Alfa Dealer here in Melbourne. Pick it up Wednesday Nov 2nd and can't wait!

Coming from a SAAB 9-3 SportCombi (traded in) which has been completely reliable if a little boring...same engines blocks I believe

The Selespeed is smooth as silk and I'm planning to keep up the servicing and calibrations they require as the car itself was very reasonably priced and the change over was also very good.

Thanks to this Forum for all the info and conversations that help a lot when buying older cars !!

Here's a piccy at the dealers..
