Thumbs Up after 2 years of Subaru Impreza's... Alfa 147 GTA time
Hi everyone!

I'm Chris, 25, from Wrexham in North Wales.

Just tonight signed on the line and put a deposit on an Alfa =

147 GTA
53 plate
27k miles
Full Alfa service history
Black\blue leather
Silver
12month warranty

Why the change?

I part ex'd my Subaru Impreza WRX for it, at Mangoletsi in Knutsford.

It was my 2nd impreza, had it for 3 months. Juts didn't 'click' with it. The seats weren't as adjustable as my old impreza and a bit uncomfortable, it felt 'detached' to drive with lighter steering & clutch, the suspension was too soft and rolly, and the flat 4 burble was gone, i just couldn't get on with it.. Subaru definitly made it more mainstream and bland compared my older X reg one, which was all or nothing turbo power, loud noise and rock solid handling

SO i've always wanted an Alfa with a V6, my brother had a 2.0 GTV a few years ago, which was a great (if not reliable) car.

I fell in love with the 147 GTA after a test drive...

So i'm going from Japanese functionality and precision to Italian style and flair, i hope it will be worth it! I'm prepared to dig deep (the impreza was £130 minor service inc vat!) for the noise, handling and looks

Will be interesting to hear your comparison, they are such different cars!

BTW don't expect the GTA to handle well on really rough roads the way an impreza would, the suspension is setup for relatively smooth tarmac and they can be prone to bottoming out due to the low ground clearance.

Welcome - My previous car was a '97 Impreza (from new). Now driving a V6 GTV and loving it!

The 147 GTA is a mad car - stonking in a straight line and with a noise you'll never tire of. Don't expect it to go round corners like a Scooby though!

I too, moved from a succession of two Impreza Stis (and a BMW M3) to a 147 GTA. After three wonderful years in my GTA it was time to change and I am now in an Alpina B3 S. Although all of these cars are fantastic performers in their own way, if I had to choose one that gave me to most joy, the biggest smile on my face, and felt and sounded the fastest I would without hesitation say the 147 GTA - great decision and welcome to the world of "Italian style and flair" - you now have it in spades
