What's the latest news re the Maclaren team's protest about the two other teams that used banned fuel ?

No further action I think. Regardless, Hamilton didn't want the title if he wins it after this mess.

An appeal date has been set, but Mosley seems to have pre-judged the results by saying Lewis won't be champion

I think you're colouring his words there quite a bit.

That said, it's very unlikely, because even if they excluded those cars they are not obliged to reclassify Hamilton. There's absolutely no need, if they don't wish to, to change the position that Hamilton was in.
It's been said on here a few times already, but no-one seems interested: last time there was a fuel irregularity (not a weight irregularity, as with BAR/Honda) the drivers kept their points and the teams lost theirs.

Re: Illegally chilled fuel in Braz.G.P.
Thats right Jamieboy. In that case the fingerprint of the fuel ie components in it, didnt match the sample submitted to the FIA earlier in the season.
No doubt if no action is taken or no action to the drivers there will be cries of Ferrari bias in the FIA

Re: Illegally chilled fuel in Braz.G.P.
Its an independent court of appeal so Mosley cant have a say in the outcome. Unlikely the result will change though.
I assume Mclaren are pursuing the title to get more earnings to help subsidize their fine? IE Hamiltons championship winnigs going towards it

Re: Illegally chilled fuel in Braz.G.P.
Two intersting quotes from McLaren
Martin Whitmarsh doesnt want to "win" the title, just wants a rule clarification
http://www.autosport.com/news/report.php/id/63930
McLaren barrister at todays hearing wants the disqualifiaction of the drivers involved and Hamilton crowned champion.
http://www.autosport.com/news/report.php/id/63949
"It must be right that if the team is disqualified, the driver loses the points as well. In the other case, the drivers were offered immunity if they assisted the FIA."
Im sorry but I can't believe anything this team says.
And they are forgetting earlier in that weekend McLaren put an extra set of tyres on Lewis's car and were they disqualified, no.

Swings and Roundabbouts!
All I can say is that Ferrari will want to be as 'clean as new snow' in the future because with all the grandstanding on their part, they definitely cannot afford to do anything that can be seen to be cheating.

Re: Illegally chilled fuel in Braz.G.P.
Of course he won't. And even if he does, he's still the commercial rights' holder to F1, so he'd still be heavily involved ...
Anyway, Hamilton won't win the championship

Agreed about Bernie
The courtroom is the wrong place to win a Championship IMO so lets hope Whitmarsh gets what he wants !!

I hope he gets what he deserves: a right kick in the back side!
Is it obvious I am a Ferrari supporter???
