I agree with that, all the major teams have their place in history, to single out Ferrari is grossly unfair to the others. Too many people are forgetting how many lean years they had between championships. When Schumacher arrived there he was under no illusions about how good they were at that point(not very). Since then everyone's been carried along on the wave of success he created.

Agreed. Lets go back to before the Schumacher ferrari championship era, and Ferrari had 10 constructors titles to show for 50 years in the sport.
Williams had 9 titles after 22 years
Mclaren had 8 titles after 34 years.
Both with a better percentage of titles/years in the sport than the golden boys at Ferrari.

Re: Mosley: Ferrari Most Important Team In F1
Probably the team that changed F1 the most is no longer with us.
Lotus. Colin Chapman pushed the norms of chassis design so far so fast (sometimes too far with tragic consequences), but when the Lotus 25 came out it made everything else look lardy and overweight and amateur...same with the Lotus 49, and when the Lotus 72 came out in 1970 (designed by Maurice Phillippe actually) it just took my breath away with its forward thinking..and was still winning races four years later it took the others so long to catch up. I still have the launch article from Motor dated April 11th 1970. It won 20 GPs with three different drivers
I still miss Lotus 25 years after Chapman died. He may have been a complete wide boy with his efforts to juggle the finances of Lotus, but he was an engineers engineer, just brimming over with bright clever ideas..even if not all of them worked.
I've never seen that kind of spark from Ferrari, nor many other racing car manufacturers, even though I respect them for other reasons.

Not a fan of the modern Ferrari!
They all look like a pair of old mans slippers....

Guys: reality check.
Ferrari is F1 nowadays. And to be honest, so is Mercedes, but they prefer to run under the name of McLying

Re: Mosley: Ferrari Most Important Team In F1
Well if Ferrari is F1 it explains the poor racing over the last 7 or so years
There is only one man who can claim to have owned the 'team' , built the car , and driven the same car to win a F1 world championship and it has nothing to do with Ferrari!

Re: Mosley: Ferrari Most Important Team In F1
In reality F1 died in 1981 with the original Concorde Agreement and it changed from a sport to a money making business....
Today it about money and advertising with the real racing coming a lowly third.

Re: Mosley: Ferrari Most Important Team In F1
The funny thing is that F1 is profitable for Bernie only probably but a money losing (or evens at most) for most of the teams.
Aren't F1 cars the most expensive billboards in the world?
Oh well ...

Re: Mosley: Ferrari Most Important Team In F1
In a world that is buckling under the plague of humans (population has increased by 2.5 times since I was born to over 6.6 billion) I suspect that Ferrari does indeed represent F1...and the word of that representation is GREED

Well said Alfa Lincs, they beat Ferrari to be the first team to win 50 GPs, and pushed the boundaries of technology more than Ferrari have been able to push the boundaries of the rules (and we all know how far that is )
