As Jezza said on Top Gear on Sunday, Fifth Gear really are jealous!! Not quite as bad as the hamster!

In all seriousness, I hope it doesn't cause him to suffer too badly

Thats not good, but at least he's alive and kicking. Burns are horrible, even small ones are very nasty things. Lets hope he mends quickly.

A few things come to mind -

will the burns to his face make him less smarmy?

is he just getting his excuse ready for losing the weekend's race?

& WTF! - after the accident they decided to work out where the hospitals were?
Excellent preparation - just as well nothing really serious happened.

Glad he's OK. Not a good ad for the Caparo at all.

Did it catch fire on the road, or on the track? Whenever I see those journalists (ultimately) slinging cars about on a test track, I do wonder if they shouldn't be kitted out in safety helmet and gloves at the very least. A car being caned on track must have more risk of a component failure/accident/flamer.
