WTCC Monza, J. Thompson on Podium
J.T. gets 3rd position from 8th on the grid , hopefully he'll be on for another good result in race two. Priaulx fails to finish.

Nice try by Thommo to get past Larini on the last lap, shame he couldn't do it

Re: WTCC Monza, J. Thompson on Podium
Good weekend overall for J.T
Two third places is a good result
Talk about a bad weekend for bmw
P.S that puts J.T. in 4th in the championship & only 12 points off the leaders
1. A. Priaulx 81
2. Y. Muller 81
3. A. Farfus 71
4. J. Thompson 69

Re: WTCC Monza, J. Thompson on Podium
sadly, Alfa do not do well at the street circuit of Macau. Thompson gets the most out of the Red Wedge. I am proud to say that the 156, the oldest but the best looking car on the grid has done Alfa Romeo proud. Due to retire this year and be replaced by the 147. since 1991 Alfa have entered 423 races, won 127, second in 137, third 102 times with 99 pole starts and 109 fastest laps. Thats not including the results today. Amazing.

Hopefully not replaced with the 147, that would be a waste of time at this point. Hopefully the 149 or something a bit newer if they are meaning to compete going forward.

I remember hearing a rumour last year that Alfa was pulling out then there was a change of management in Alfa Romeo. The new guy did a U-turn and wanted to use the 159 but the decision had come too late in the year to have developed the 159 in time for the new season
The last I heard was that Alfa (N Technology) were pulling out at the end of the year as there is no longer any factory support
It will be a shame not to have Alfa in the WTCC after they have been there for as long as I can remember
2008 Alfa Romeo 147 Lusso 3Dr 1.6 TS . Montecarlo Blue . Black Alfatex . Sunroof . 17" Supersports with Bridgestone Potenza . Cruise Control . Winter Pack . Comfort Pack . Sports Suspension . GTA Rear Spoiler . Alfa Linea Sideskirts . AO Sticker .

Agreed Kevin - you need at least one decent looking motor in the field!

Re: WTCC Monza, J. Thompson on Podium
Excellent for JT today but the next race is a bogey for the 156
On the coverage today, they mentioned a new car for next year

Re: WTCC Monza, J. Thompson on Podium
147 will be the car. The 159 is too big and heavy and does not have a proper Alfa engine anymore! spoke to Marco Calovolo at Brands Hatch, he gave nothing away but merely raised his eyes when i asked about 147.

Re: WTCC Monza, J. Thompson on Podium
He did very well in both races. If he had got a better drag off his team mate in qualifying I think he could of taken a win
