Re: Aaw, Poor Wee World Champion!
Yeah - Alonso should realise that if he can't beat Hamilton is equal equipment then he doesn't deserve the championship...

Is that the sound of toys being thrown out of a cockpit?

Re: Aaw, Poor Wee World Champion!
In fairness Hamilton said pretty much the same thing, here and here.

Re: Aaw, Poor Wee World Champion!
Yep Hamilton said he'd rather Alonso go and now Alonso has countered, however, Alonso has been a sulk all year because it hasn't gone his way - I used to like him but after this year

Re: Aaw, Poor Wee World Champion!
I think at the start of the season Hamilton dealt really well with having a miserable teammate who expected preferential treatment. He said the right things and let his driving do the talking.
Now I think his patience has finally run out (understandably) and he's having his say. Rightly so.
In F1 (or any racing) you have to beat your teammate first, before worrying about anything else. Alonso has failed to do that, and is more than aware that he's been upstaged by a rookie.
Time will prove that there's no shame in getting beaten by Hamilton, he'll go on to be a multiple champion and leggend of the sport. Alonso would do well to have a think about holding his hands up and saying 'Yep, he beat me fair and square. Well done to him. Now I'm going to up my game and have a fight back next year'
Anything else makes him look childish and petty.

...The Terrorists won.

No he didn't - he never said he deserved (or implied he needed) preferential treatment.

Not going to argue with you about what I meant by 'pretty much'.
But when Hamilton said "Since what's gone on, they've realised who the real people are in the team and who they should really back" it seems to me that he's painting himself as one of 'the real people', and by implication saying that he is the one who should be backed. He's just being a bit smarter about how he says it than Alonso.

Point taken - I certainly think Hamilton's now praising the team to the so much that it sounds patronising.

Re: Aaw, Poor Wee World Champion!
Its a case of the fact that he won't (hopefully) regain his title with a new team, but not only that, that he is losing it to an absolutely talented young rookie! There is definitely the sound of smashing plastic that was made in China hitting the floor as it falls from the pram...
