Crazed 2007 F1 contrustors championship

What would the score be if McLaren were still in it

I'm hoping that Ferrari take the lead fair & square, regardless of the ban

Can they do it??

Nah, McLaren would be as good as champions by now. Massa and Raikonnen would both need to overtake Alonso in the Drivers Championship to even stand a chance of Ferrari getting ahead of McLaren on Points. That isn't going to happen I would say.

Not that sure Colin. Remember McLaren would have had their Hungary points docked.

Re: 2007 F1 contrustors championship

Drivers points summed are
McLaren 202
Ferrari 170

If you dock Hungary (14 points) then that would put McLaren in at 188.

By my reckoning each race is worth 18 points (1-2 vs 2 x 0 points) so if McLaren finished ahead of Ferrari in China they would win the constructors there & then.

Re: 2007 F1 contrustors championship

To be honest Ferrari team worek was abysmal this race - first they go out on the wrong tyres, then they didn't fuel their cars to the end, necessitating more pit stops. Also it appears Massa was called in to serve a drive through penalty under the safety car - which isn't allowed

Is this the team that deserves to call themselves constructor champions?

They can call themselves constructor champions if they like, but they're the only ones who'll actually believe it

I prefer 2007 F1 Constructor Champions By Default

 But surely if McLaren are responsibel for the behaviour of their employees, then Ferrari are too, in which case why weren't Ferrari banned from the championship in 1997 when Schumacher was disqualified

Re: 2007 F1 contrustors championship

Call me an old fart, but...................... I genuinely believe the Constructors Championship is FAR more important than the drivers championship. The hype surrounding the drivers championship is mostly media-driven, and a relatively recent change in emphasis. Maybe few of you can remember when it was the CAR that won GPs and not the driver? There were many instances of 2 drivers driving the same car during a GP, and the car winning the race. For example Peter Collins gave up his (albeit slim) chance of winning the 1958 drivers championship by handing over his car to Mike Hawthorn mid-race. Which gave Hawthorn his one and only championship.
Of course, back then, GPs were real tough r
