Wave Anyone camping at silverstone?

forecast rain, campsites mud, cars stuck! lovely! think were gonna head up there early as possible, try and get my alfa parked at the top of a hill!

A friend heard on the radio they are expecting cars on the campsites to get stuck in mud, just a word of warning for those who are going.

Re: Anyone camping at silverstone?

My brother was originally going there this Monday - but the site was waterlogged and when I spoke to him on Sunday he said it was closed until Wednesday. So he was supposed to be trying to get in there again today (Thursday).

Seem to recall that last time there was heavy rain before the Grand Prix numerous cars did end up getting stuck and I'm told the tractor drivers there took much pleasure in trying to 'yank' the cars out as roughly as possible to (apparently) cause as much damage as they could

Re: Anyone camping at silverstone?

Camping was rather grim this year. Silverstone did the right thing closing the marshall's campsite until Wednesday afternoon to try and protect it. It didn't stop people from getting stuck going on to it though, but luckerly there were a lot of quad bikes and 4x4 to help tow people to their allocated spot. My wife's landrover was a godsend, althouhg that spud it wheels a few times. By Sunday the site had more or less dried out, but a heavy shower on Sunday evening meant it had become a bog again byt he time we left on Monday

In every step, I hear your sobbing
Dare I break the shade with one caress
Dare I trespass to lift the veil
To touch the lips so soft and frail

It may be that love comes once and once only, preceded by rehersal, followed by regret.
