Re: F1 2008
Wow, lets through 2007 first!
Will Bernie ever retire or has he the secret to eternal life.
Leave it alone I say.

Re: F1 2008
dont know about that but an extra point for pole position and an extra point for most laps led would be good

Re: F1 2008
BTW, it looks like Singapore may get a race for 2008 (street circuit) and it may be held in the evening.
Or so I read...

Re: F1 2008
Agree with Trebor, and maybe a point for fastest race lap too.
I think it is a good idea to give points for 7th and 8th but there isn't enough incentive at the moment to push for a win, so this might be better all round.

Re: F1 2008
I agree, I do think the points do need to be looked at, I just wish there was some stability too though.

Re: F1 2008
sort of looks like they might be admitting the current 10-8 points system was brought in as an anti-Schumacher measure (given his dominance at the time) but now he's gone they can revert back to something like the old system which rewards wins. Just a thought not an opinion
I agree they should just pick one system and stick to it, otherwise all the 'what if' arguments start

Re: F1 2008
Actually Marksie, I think Bernie was quite open about admitting that all those measures and others were implemented to stop Ferrari winning again.
It sort of makes sense as long term, the sport would suffer if everyone knew who the winner already is before the start of the season, but as a true Tifoso, I much prefered the Red Domination

Re: F1 2008
Suppose so, but I wish they concentrated on making the racing more exciting rather than adjusting the point system to make the championship more exciting.
Am a bit red myself (although have no real allegiance since Jordan left) , the year Schu broke his leg & Irvine was going for Championship was a classic (for me at least), so close Ed, so close

Re: F1 2008
Yeah, it was real shame.
Eddie was such a nice guy and very well regarded by the Tifosi and Italian press.

Re: F1 2008
There always used to have a point for the fastest lap. It was nearly a Stirling Moss benefit! Plus there was always a bigger gap between first and second places. Ten for a win and six for second I think. Much as it grieves me to agree with Bernie he is absolutely correct this time.

Re: F1 2008
Yep, North Korea's the one.
Wonder if Bernie will organise a race there too someday, as he organised the Budapest F1 race before the fall of the USSR.

Re: F1 2008
Yeah, he really can't stand Silverstone, can he?
Damon Hill was quoted recently as saying that after the expiry of the current contract with F1 (2010?) he sees huge problems in keeping the race at Silverstone.

Yes, I think Hill could be right - lets hope the government invest some money in the circuit
