Re: F1 2008
Why would Ferrari be remotely interested in Jenson?
Jenson has never got the results that his talent warrants, basically because of his inability to put himself in the right place at the right time. His negotiations outside of the car have left him floundering in midfield teams, unable to really shine.
I sincerely doubt he'll add to his solitary win in F1.

Re: F1 2008
No real reason, I personally think he could shine in a top team and Ferrari has historically done well with British drivers

Forget Buttons.....and historically......We need to get Alonso in there
Then we need a competitive F2009 & MP4-24 and finally : venom and viciousness between Lewis and Fernando. That's all I need

Re: F1 2008
More on the Ferrari con-rod failures from an interview with Stefano Domenicali to the Gazzetta dello Sport:
1. The Austrian company making the con-rods has been given a roasting (my interpration)
2. The two con-rods were one after the other in a batch of 100 (eg. number 4 and number 5)
3. Both failures incurred in non-stressed parts of the con-rods, indicating a problem with the materials used.
4. Massa's engine blew up after 932km, Kimi's after 968km.
5. More people have been dedicated to the quality control for third party parts.
And last but not least, when asked if Kimi would support Massa in case the latter was fighting for the championship, the answer was a resounding yes.

how can you have a non-stressed part of a conrod? If I was a conrod I think i would be permanently stressed
They do come up with some funny excuses, why dont they just admit they have to run the Ferrari's on the ragged edge to stay ahead of McLaren

"Ferrari's Aldo Costa on the other hand was quoted as saying "Rules are frozen on the engine but you are allowed to change components for reliability reasons and also, if you demonstrate that you are implementing a more economic, a cheaper component, you can also ask permission."
I want to know if the conrods have been modified in any way after the engine freeze or if they plan to modify them after the two failures. Will stricter Quality control on third party components solve the problem? What about quality control(on materials) on third party sites?Or are htey simply shifting the blame

Re: F1 2008
Sounds like they have found a loop hole in the engine freeze, could we see other teams implementing new parts into the engine with similar claims?
I'm very suprised about Ferrari using a third party supplier given the amount of resources they have, lets hope they don't have any more issues.

They haven't read the rules properly. They're supposed to be changing components to improve the reliability.

Re: F1 2008
I wonder how often engine power is increased when these "unreliable" parts are replaced

Re: F1 2008
Surely they have given up development this year?
They are just going backwards - I wonder if JB still wants to stay?
