Re: F1 2008

Well, as far as contracts can be relied upon, Rosberg staying with Williams now means Coulthard is a shoe-in at McLaren!

Well, the FIA have been to check on the McLaren to make sure there is no Ferrari intellectual property on it http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/moto...ne/7084849.stm

'A spokesman said the initial plan had been to present any evidence found to the World Motor Sport Council meeting on 7 December but that he did not know whether a report would be ready by then.'

Polite way of saying, If we don't find anything incriminatory at the site, we may well need some extra time to conjour up a way of deducting points from Mclaren in preparation for the 2008 season.....

Re: F1 2008

I don't know, according to Pitpass, Alonso is rather keen on getting a drive with Ferrari in 2009. That would explain why Flavio was so insistent on Alonso staying at least 2 seasons with Renault.

I could see Alonso pulling a Prost and sitting out 2008...

Re: F1 2008

I cant see him wanting to sit out a season - with advances in tech and banning of systems such as traction control etc it would put him at a disadvantage in 2009

Re: F1 2008

Agree with andyroo. With all these up and coming young drivers, I wouldn't want to sit out a season either.

True. Though I am sure most teams could make space for him.

Re: F1 2008

Yeah - but the ones he'd want to go to (i.e., Ferrari) aren't able too. Also, I don't think he would be comfortable with another top driver in the same team as him...

Especially if Renault and Mclaren get excluded from the 2008 championship.

Button has issued an ultimatum to Honda link

It does make me wonder if there is a possibility he will be in a McLaren next year

I doubt if Button will ever find himself a top drive. To be quite honest there are quicker, younger, hungrier guys out there, and sad as it is to say, I think Button has missed the boat as far as his F1 career is concerned, just like DC before him.
