Re: F1 2008
I read in F1 Racing that they think he is eyeing a move to Ferrari in 2009, however where he ends up in 2008 is anyones guess.

Re: F1 2008
Infighting cost McLaren the WDC. I think Alonso had to leave McLaren. I don't think another season would have worked out. Leaves Lewis as clear number one.
If Alonso did go to Ferrari eventually and was partnered with Kimi who would be no.1 then?

I can't speak for others - but to be honest I couldn't have cared less if he had challenged, and even beaten, Lewis fairly. What I dislike was his lack of sportsmanship, demanding preferential treatment etc. Its the reason I disliked Schumacher (that and the fact that he was an out-and-out cheat), and its the reason I feel let down by Alonso.

Re: F1 2008
The BBC are saying Renault or Red Bull are the favourites.
I hope he doesn't go to Red Bull; but I do think Toyota have the money to throw at the whinging Spanish sour-puss

Re: F1 2008
This probably belongs back in the '07 thread, but I think Hamilton and Alonso were both after preferential treatment - Hamilton's comment along the lines of "the team know who the real people are, and who they should be backing".
Anyway, back to '08.

Re: F1 2008
This article on crash.net is where I first saw Williams-Lexus mentioned, and it sounds plausible as a one-year deal, a stepping stone to Ferrari.
I think both Frank and Alonso would be able to hold their tempers for a season if they went into the deal knowing exactly where each of them stood.

Anyway, back to '08.
What he probably meant was that Alonso doesn't deserve ANY treatment and doesn't deserve to be in McLaren after his behavior.
Whatever happens one thing is clear : Alonso will not be able to fight for the tittle

I cant remember where I heard or saw it, but I clearly remember seeing that they send all the drivers getting out of hand to Williams to be sorted out by Uncle Frank.
In Williams, you are no more important than the lollipop man.
Alonso looks like the perfect canidate..............

Re: F1 2008
One consideration about the night race in Singapore was brought to me yesterday when I met with a fellow AOer (schroedinger).
Singapore is quite prone to sudden tropical rain. A night race would therefore be quite dangerous in case of a downpour. I guess we'll see how it goes next year...

Would you get such downpours at night though?

Re: F1 2008
Sabine Kehm, Schumi's PR, confirmed he'll be testing the Ferrari 2007 car with the 2008 set up (ie. without the electronics) either next week in Barcelona or in December at Jerez.
