Re: F1 2008
and before i forget....Barichello was completely delusional at the post race interview. I have this belief, this feeling, i love the rain etc.
He was on the right tyre at the right time. He's lost his marbles since his last podium.

Re: F1 2008
I think Ferrari will be looking at there tactics for the rainy races, I wouldn't want to be in the room back at Marrenello when the big bosses ask for an explanation.

I also had a feeling that silver stone + rain + barichello = decent result.
Its not only the team that makes the choice I sure Kimi and Alonso made their decision to stay on used tyres with the team, Kimi could have changed but made the wrong chioce, Barrichello and his engineers made another choice and it was teh right one.
I had a couple of quid on him at approx 250:1 to get on podium, I'm a happy man

Re: F1 2008
Fair play to Hamilton who's had a fantastic drive. Where was Heikki though?

Re: F1 2008
Well, we had DC score a podium place earlier, now Barrichello. Who's next?
Fisi?

You are a lucky man.congrats on the win. As i said : Barichello was on the proper tyre for the conditions - extreme wets with plenty of grip. So it was the sane decision to make. But that doesn't explain the delusions:
Barichello post interview:
"Well, it’s fantastic. I’ve never lost the belief that I have in me, this speed and everything. Obviously it was a lucky day with the weather and so on. It seems to always happen to me in a way, because I love wet weather conditions."
"because I think it was the very right decision for us to take the extreme wet weather and I could see,I was passing people on the inside, the outside and it was just magic."
" The team knows – maybe those outside don’t – but I have this great feeling. It’s like I’m young, it’s like I’m smiling at problems, it’s like I’m working more. I feel that. I just love the sport, I just love the speed, I cannot live without that. It’s not that I want to prove to Ross that I’m physically capable. He knows that I have the speed and I want to keep on racing"
I've been trying hard to retire him with a voodoo doll that i've placed in a "retirement home" box but the guy is still up to his ears in denial.....it's sad and a bit embarrassing.

Re: F1 2008
Hey man, if I were to lose my job to young and upcoming drivers, I'd pull that kind of garbage out of my backside too.
We all would

I wouldn't ! It takes a bit of courage and class to pull the plug when you should. But to continue to linger on.....well it's just sad and embarrassing.
It's like an ex that just can't except that it's over.....not very attractive

Re: F1 2008
Of course I don't have the millions he does, but since I am going through a bit of a situation at work, I can appreciate someone trying to protect his/her stock among the employers' community.
It's got nothing to do with class, but survival.
Clearly, he can probably retire today and still live off his past earnings but once you get used to a certian lifestyle, having to "step back" is tough, even for an F1 driver.

Re: F1 2008
Now I don't really like the Golden Boy treatment from some media (i.e. the ITV commentary team) that Lewis has been getting, and my allegiance has always been with Ferrari, but I think that if Lewis had started in a midfield car, this would have been the race where we saw a future top driver.
If he can iron out the errors he is still occasionally making (scrappy quali, messy and quesionable pass on Vettel in France which got him penalised, Canada pit-lane incident), and McLaren can keep giving him a good car, he will be tough for anyone to beat.
Still hope he doesn't win though, for Ferrari's sake.
Rubens did well, I was very happy to see him smiling and happy on the podium, another strong race from BMW Sauber - if Kubica had kept it on the road he'd be leading the WDC.
Let's not mention Ferrari though. Kimi salvaged something, but Massa had a dismal race.
