Re: F1 2008

Just watched the ITV news report on the British GP. Why do we Brits have to talk our countrymen down.

You would think Hamilton had committed murder by qualifying 4th, the tv clip showing him going off in the final session but they overdubbed the team radio "dont overdrive Lewis" comment which actually happened on his final lap.

Why not talk the local lads up, they would in the USA eg "today Joe Blogs qualified 23rd in the Nascar something or other but, hey, no probs we know he can win from there, woop woop holla holla etc etc.....go Joe, go Joe"

Pah !

PS - I may have incorrectly spelled woop and/or holla

It was a curious order by the Ron. Hamilton was fastest then anyone in sector 1 and 2 before the mistake. So they put the brakes on him basically. Maybe Ron just wanted to prevent a bad lap from Lewis in the final minute and to get him to accept that it was over in relation to his chances for pole.

Re: F1 2008

just watched the GP2 and to be honest the weather (it is lashing down) means this will be half the race under yellow flags or behind the safety car.
With the weather like it is, it will be anyones race and the marshalls will be picking up bits of carbon fibre all afternoon

Re: F1 2008

It looks like it, he's driving superbly well.

Then again, Ferrari's strategist has thrown away Kimi's race choosing not to replace his tires. Why oh why

Re: F1 2008

Shame Barrichello is going to have to stop for fuel, he deserves a podium for perserverance alone.

only 8 seconds behind Hiefeild with 9 laps to go, so still could get second

Re: F1 2008

Just listening to Ross Braun, I don't think he wants to risk losing the podium, fair play though if Barrichello want to have a pop at Hiedfeld.

Re: F1 2008

Whats the odds Barrichello will do his usual trip over on the podium, we've not seen that for a while.

Re: F1 2008

Bridgestone wet weather tyres + english weather - TC - Engine breaking =

- A phenomenal drive by Lewis
- spin, spin, spin goes the Ferrari
- Barichello says to himself: conditions are so slow that i might have a chance today.

WOW! The weather was horrific. It embarrassed a lot of drivers today.
Massa was figure skating the entire race. Every 2 minutes he was doing tricks.....

Re: F1 2008

It was entertaining watching Massa, he's got more spins going on than Torvill and Dean

Re: F1 2008

I heard he equalled his record of 5 spins, not a bad days work. Not sure what was going on with the 2 Ferrari's.
