DS is almost retired:
Onestopstrategy.com >> Article >> Vettel to Red Bull 'possible' - Horner

And more Magny fallout for Renault:

The German newspaper FAZ reports that Alonso is growing impatient with Renault,
and that the feeling may also be mutual by many inside the French squad's pits.

One engineer is quoted as saying: "Fernando thinks only about Fernando.
(In Canada) he wasn't even at the after-race briefing."

Engineering chief Pat Symonds, however, insists that Alonso is wanted.
"The bottom line is that we are the best choice for him.

"If he would drive with us out of this crisis, he would be a hero," the Briton added.

Not sure Alonso is interested in being a hero. Didn't he say sometime ago he'd retire after winning 3 championChips

Well he is on "stand-by" at Renault. Everyone knows that. If anything better comes around(BMW,Ferrari) he is out of there. So do you really want something like that? It demoralises the team and devalues Renault's championship credentials. But the Flav adores him and that's it. He isn't there to build the team or be a hero.

One thing is for sure, there is no clear winner this season, which makes things interesting.
I've not seen it other than from Lewis' onboard camera - however, I thought he had completed the pass, but then had to go off track to avoid being hit by Vettel. If I'm correct (and it would be good to see it from outside the car) then I think Lewis was hard done by. I hope the stewards will now be consistant in how they apply these rules...

Re: F1 2008

Gary, mate, you can pass a car in front just before a corner, but if you did so because you didn't brake and had to cut a chicane … well, that defeats the purpose, doesn't it?

Honestly chaps, reality check please

Re: F1 2008

Yes...Lewis is becoming a loose canon.....
It certainly easy to pass and then fail to take the corner...everyone here could do that "Hamiliton' pass with ease.....

I doubt anyone here could even get an F1 car off the line

Seriously though, he is starting to remind me of Nigel Mansell.....as in bit of a loose cannon, makes things interesting again

Yeah, but I'm not sure that's what happended in this case

It looked to me as if Lewis made a clean pass, but then Vettel remembered who manufactured the engines in the Torro Rosso and would have taken Lewis off if Lewis hadn't put a wheel or two on the grass.

You see, its all a massive conspiracy by Ferrari - after all, which colour light was it that was showing at the end of the pit lane in Canada
