Re: F1 2008

Well F1 was meant to be the pinnacle of Motor racing but with contolled tyres and 'Controlled engines' and the 'savings' being spent on aerodynamic development, you have to wonder when F1 will stop being just about Advertising andl actualy get back to basics and start really racing on the track rather than in the pits......

So no more 'feed back' (telemetry) to the pits, no pit to car radios and let the 'big boys race'

None of this save the Engine Jensen...Save the tyres Jensen ...push harder Jensen ...as though he is about to give birth!

It's quite entertaining when the driver pretends that the radio is broken...

Re: F1 2008

Bahrain to begin 2008 F1 season
The 2008 Formula One season will start with the Bahrain Grand Prix, rather than the traditional opening race in Australia, it has been announced.

The Australian Grand Prix Corporation (AGPC) confirmed the Melbourne race will also start 90 minutes later than usual to cater for European TV viewers.

"This is the best option for our event and the people who support it," said AGPC chairman Ron Walker.
The changes are subject to approval by motorsport's governing body the FIA.
Walker also confirmed that having had initial discussions on the subject with F1 supremo Bernie Ecclestone, they would not be pursuing the idea of staging a night race.

"Our investigations have convinced us that as things currently stand, the disadvantages outweigh the advantages," he said.

"Instead, we have decided to run the F1 race later on Sunday, moving the start time from 1400 local time to 1530.
"We need to ensure all of our partners are comfortable with this and we're working through that process now."

In every step, I hear your sobbing
Dare I break the shade with one caress
Dare I trespass to lift the veil
To touch the lips so soft and frail

It may be that love comes once and once only, preceded by rehersal, followed by regret.

Re: F1 2008

Well, there's no change in the BMW driver line-up, which isn't suprising really!

I wouldn't be suprised if he did, at least he'd be the Alfa ( ) male there, and Renault do seem keen to continue in F1 at the moment...

Re: F1 2008

Well, I do remember that Carlos Ghosn said they'd quite the moment their "return on investment" (ie. not winning) wouldn't pay off.

Maybe next year will be the make or break year for Renault.

And cast iron brake discs. If those little boys can't deal with it, then give me the keys and I'll show them hoe to do it!

'Tis a shame

That must put the Super Aguri / Honda tie-up under the spotlight again...
