Sadly I think his time at Ferrari destroyed him. He might well have earned good money being number 2 to MS, but at what cost?

IMO a pre-Ferrari Barichello would have mopped the floor with Button.
No.. he is not as quick as anyone else(yet alone Button)

Anyone that goes in a team with the intention to be someone else's lap dog doesn't deserve ANY respect.

A pre-ferrari Rubens was a loooong time ago BUT was still over hyped

When Rubens arrived at a weekend and got the Ferrari set up quickly, i.e. in fridays session, he was on the pace of MS all weekend.
I think his problems lie more in getting the setup right, than having any lack of talent, but that's a part of an F1 driver's job, so that's no excuse.

When he was at Stewart GP he seemed to enjoy the atmosphere and his performances in a very average car, were sometimes stunning to say the least.

Button's biggest problem is his off track lack of nous which has caused him to go from one bad car, to another bad car, to another bad car.

I think Button will eventually go down as one of F1's wasted talents, he could have been half decent (not a great, by any means) but was never able to get in the right place, at the right time.

I agree with that, it is a possibility for Button but not for RB(because you need talent to become a wasted talent

I think RB will be happy with having the most GP starts in history (assuming he finishes next year ) and currently being the 5th highest career points scorer in F1 history

"The Italian's day had got off to a disappointing start when he spun early on, but luckily he did not cause any damage to the car."

And here is the shopping bag of excuses from fisi :

"It's my first day back in the car nearly two months after the last race in Brazil, plus my first with another car and new engine, and of course without the electronics," he said. "Considering this I am quite happy about how the day went though.

"We did have a couple of issues so I didn't run as much as I would have liked; with new tyres I had a problem with the hydraulic pressure, and when I tried out the slick tyres there was a problem on the diff so we didn't get a proper idea of how the tyres will work. All the same I do think it's been a positive day though and a good basis for tomorrow."

Re: F1 2008

Button seems very confident that Honda will make a big step forward next year, and win races in 2009. I know we've heard it before, but with Brawn on board you would expect Honda to be at the sharp end of the grid.

Re: F1 2008

Actually..I detect JB hedging his bets there..saying you will do well in 2009 is the perfect self let off for doing crap in 2008. He should be saying "We aim to win in 2008" lets see how far we get...and saying 2009 makes it seem comfortably far away as well.

I need to hear 100% positivity from JB..you'd never have heard Schumacher say that (now someone will prove he did say it..no doubt ). Less Comfort Zone Jenson please!!!!

DC , hamilton, piquet, de la rosa, fisi,Klein,Heidfeld on slicks
I'm trying to find out for the rest of the field...but most are driving without TC

I think most of the drivers are trying slicks out at some point of the tests.....but i have no idea
on what tyres they've set the times. I think that Hamilton & DC times were set on slicks
