Re: F1 2008
Well, if McLaren's case is proven then one would have to assume that, all things being equal, they will be punished more severely than McLaren...
However, of course, we all know some F1 teams are treated more leniently, and others more severely....

Re: F1 2008
After the original hearing Mclaren were found guilty but received no punishment as the data had not been used. It was only after the 'emails' proving use was made of the data and that info continued to flow(mobile phone records)that a punishment was felt necessary.
I think Renault will not be punished

Re: F1 2008
Also, the FIA fine for McLaren was based on their annual budget, ie they could afford it. I reckon if Renault are founf guilty they will be fined less. This will lead to usual mutterings about Max v Ron, even though Max stated at the time the fine was based on ability to pay

Re: F1 2008
Ah, now I understand why Alonso hasn't signed with Renault yet... He'll probably wait for some resolution of McLaren's claims concerning Renault first. Well if I came from McLaren, I know I would.

Yep and as i've mentioned before McLaren are trying to kill two birds with one stone(Alonso and the Flav) not to mention a possible challenge from renault in 08. They are trying to neutralize Alonso as a threat but also to punish him a little bit. And obviously they just love to throw this at the FIA...... a lot of birds in there

Re: F1 2008
Well I wouldn't entirely laugh it off. Ralf has been completely demotivated at Toyota, so he still has something to prove. Mercedes would love a German in one of their cars. At 32 I don't think he is over the hill at all. Most other drivers are spoken for contractually.
I think he stands an outside chance of landing it actually. He's got to be a better team mate than the Spaniard.
I almost certainly wrong, but I don't think we have seen the best that Ralf can offer, though he is clearly not quite in the same league as Bruvver Mikey Boy.
I'd be happy to see him in the McLaren...which is not something I thought I would find myself saying.

Re: F1 2008
I don't see Ralf going to Macca either. They'd be better off with De La Rosa, who knows the car and the team well enough and despite being a lying cheat just like Alonso, this feature should get him on par with the Ronster.
PS: I promise, I will stop dissing McLying ... soon....ish...

Hi BF, congratulations on the scarlet colour cloverleaf - I guess you chose it
Actually, AlfaLincs make a good case for Ralf going there - although imagine the secruity issues - would he feed his brother McLaren information

Re: F1 2008
I can't see any F1 team giving Ralf a drive. He has proved throughout his career to be no better than average.

Re: F1 2008
When Ralf was at Jordan he did seem to get the bit betwen his teeth and put in some great performances form time to time, but over the course of his career, he's done nothing to suggest he'll ever be anything other than the little brother of a legend.

Re: F1 2008
Aye! At £10M a year he's losing sleep that you fellas are agonising so much over his career prospects!
It'll be cool for Little Schu' to be in a Macca next year... I think most opinions on Ralf are based on his time in that Toyota crock. He did okay in the Williams a few years ago and often a driver who looks pants in one car can be transformed in another.
But I keep saying, Ralf likes energy drinks (Italian version).
Ralf S.

Re: F1 2008
But don't Toro Rosso have the two Sebastiens already signed up for next year?
