Re: F1 2008

Willy Webber trying to get Vettel. Next step would surely be a seat with Ferrari?

It was evident in the race as well. I don't think that i saw an overtake by Kubica.Or maybe they didn't show any. He(bob) didn't get much screen time since Hamilton is locked in a close battle with Massa.

Robert doesn't mind. Under the radar can be a good position to be in

Re: F1 2008

I am sure he doesn't, but it highlights how the press is over-hyping Hamilton.

And Bruno Senna too who couldn't even win GP2 (go Pantano! ) and yet every other hack is writing how one day he'll be winning championships in a McLaren ...

Re: F1 2008

What about the Monza TV people? They couldn't care less about the BMWs as well(i only saw BMWs being passed. And Bruno.....well he carries the surname of a racing god so it is natural for the media to have a hype frenzy with that one. Bruno was forbidden to drive/race for years.....and you can't just get back to racing like it's no big deal

Re: F1 2008

Didn't notice anything odd with regards to the TV coverage of the GP.

One thing that really bugs me is why, in the year of the Lord 2008, F1 camera cars still don't work properlly

It wasn't odd.they just didn't show much of the BMWs.
Onboard footage was ok...considering the spray and dodgy conditions.
They cut and tear when they go in tunnels and stuff.

I just went through the photo galleries - formula1.com and f1racing

NO photos of BMWs passing anyone

Re: F1 2008

Perhaps they didn't. Good race strategy nonetheless.

Re: F1 2008

STR's Ascanelli :

Q. Is it possible to compare the feeling you have to win a race with Toro Rosso as to that of winning with McLaren or Ferrari in the past?

GA: It is like sex. It is never as good as the first time. When sex is good, it is very good. When sex is bad, it is still pretty good! That sums it up pretty much

Sounds to me like he'd be happy with any port in a F1 storm!

One pic from the Trip, Vettel just after passing the chequered flag.

Those look like great seats.

Just behind Frank Williams I see.

Didn't spot you on the TV but we couldn't see much of anything for most of the race.

Re: F1 2008

Should have asked him for an autograph!!

We couldn't tell what was going either, glad I had a kangaroo tv over the weekend. Got plenty of photo's, just need to adjust them all to upload eventually, have an odd video of me walking up the grid area with the Alfa Flag looking completely out of place, that'll be up sometime soon.

Re: F1 2008

The engine "freeze" issue is not going away:

"Behind-the-scenes efforts by teams to make Formula One engine performance more equal are set to be ramped up in the wake of Scuderia Toro Rosso's shock victory in the Italian Grand Prix, autosport.com has learned."

I remember an interview with a Ferrari official a couple of months ago and he said something like: "Our very talented engine guys sit around twiddling their thumbs because of the freeze". Obviously, they still have something to do
