Re: F1 2008
I suppose Toyota and Honda don't have to worry about anyone nicking their designs..

Re: F1 2008
It's all becoming clearer now, with Ross Brawn going to Honda. This explains why Schuey has been 'keeping his hand in' with a few Ferrari test sessions - Making sure he has the latest info to take with him, when he is reunited with his matey.

Re: F1 2008
Think I'll apply now for a job at the FIA - Car inspector. Sounds like a cushy (and very well paid) number.

Re: F1 2008
It further complicates things for Button IMO for at least two reasons:
1. They were so bad this year that any progress/improvement will be noticeable in 08 which will bring hope(for longterm prospects of Honda)therefore making a decision at the end of 08 very tough for Button (Leaving the team after an improved season)
2. Brawn has massive talent and has a great reputation (for long term sustained effort) which again will play with Button's mind even if 08 is not a substantial improvement - as far as winning races, qualifying in the top 5 , fighting for the championship etc
And we all know his decision making is very shaky but indecision in F1 is death
Looks like Tim Henman Part II
And of course Honda can Kick him out next year or 09 just when they are hitting form and a new young gun or a current top gun becomes available - this scenario is very realistic

Re: F1 2008
Ross Brawn should get on well with the turncoat Button then. He said that if he comes back, it would only be for Ferrari

Yeah - but by the sounds of it he wants to be a team principle...

Re: F1 2008
Its a strange one. Ferrari have just announced Domenicale as director of Getsione Sportiva. I thought that was what Brawn was hankering after
Anyway, good luck to him. Im slightly disappointed but he has served Ferrari well

Re: F1 2008
C'mon guys rule number one of getting a new job is don't join the current top team..its can only go one way. If Braun gets Honda into some kind of shape its a big feather in his cap. Going back to Ferrari as anything other than Team Principal is marking time at the very best, and probably going backwards.
Anyway..stick a set of big teeth in him and he looks Japanese...probably has been all along come to that.
Japanese teams always foul up when they put their own chaps in charge..same in Bikes. I for one hope it produces a decent car/team for Jenson. It'd be nice to see what he can really do, though personally think he doesn't have the killer instinct to be world champ, but I hope I'm wrong.

Do you think Honda will be embroiled in a spying scandle next year though?

That depends on what goodies Brawn brings to Honda
But seriously, he has a lot in his head. Just as long as they don't have any physical data they should be fine
'Honda said Brawn will have full responsibility for designing, manufacturing, and engineering the team's car.'
Lets hope that the current paint job will be gone next year(and Rubens)

Goodies that could be Micheal Schumacher, given Brawns close relationship to him. Also the fact that he has just driven the Ferrari again - good for a bit more Ferrari IP theivery.
As said before there will be a grid full of Ferarris next year, but with all the cars being the same it might make for some close racing
