Re: F1 2009

who's the guy with the red helmet? Will that be Raikkenen's paintjob for '09?

And won't the rear view mirrors have migrated further out by then?

It is, he still probably makes 50% of all the money F1 generates through sponsors.

My rough guess btw.

Oh good .... I will soon be able to get at least 2 hours of solid sleep, once a week, when that happens

However we must ban World Superbike and MotoGGP as I am finding it too stressful and I may have a heart attack as it is too exciting.

Re: F1 2009

Is it designed by Tilke????
All Tilke's works are quite similar which is not good

Re: F1 2009

Yeah - I know what you mean about Tilke - I'm not sure why all the new tracks are designed by him, it would be better if they had different designers just so there's some variation

If you look at abu dhabi and valencia its like they've pressed 2 on the photocopier and just thought that will do.

Re: F1 2009

FIA will probably set a spending cap of USD150m from the 2009 season. This will not include engine costs, drivers and team principal's remunerations and marketing costs.

Yep, they'll find several ways around it and make a fool of the rules.

Re: F1 2009

These new tracks all appear a little boring to me.
All with huge run off areas pit straights as wide as a runway. Mainly they are all generally flat. Its far more exciting to see cars fly over a crest into a blind bend or down steep inclines through tight esses(eau rouge style)
None of these new track have any character - all a bit "beige" and tame

Re: F1 2009

Give them a few years and they may get some character
