Re: F1 2009
The US is a major market for all the manufacturers in F1, so I don't really understand why they can't get Bernie to organise at least a race in North America. Even Mexico would do, I guess.

Re: F1 2009
Money!
The owner of the Indy speedway sent Bernie packing when, at the end of the contract in 2007, Bernie wanted double the money for the 'priviledge' of hosting an F1 event. I suspect the same may be true for Canada.

Re: F1 2009
Why would the North American fans want F1?
They already have racing on a weekly basis that knocks F1 into a tin hat in entertainment terms.

NASCAR fan or Indycar?
Personally I love NASCAR...really good racing week in week out.

Re: F1 2009
Looks like we may see a lot less engine performance differences next year:
FIA explanatory notes for the upcoming meeting with the Teams
When the decision was taken to "freeze" the engines, certain teams asked for and got a period of time in which to address reliability problems and re-tune for 19,000 rpm. Some teams took advantage of this period to improve the power output of their engines. This was not intended. Other teams did not improve their engines, believing performance to have been "frozen". This has produced unfair and inequitable differences in performance. The World Motor Sport Council has therefore decided that engine performance will be equalised in accordance with the 2009 Sporting Regulations in order to re-establish the position as it was when the freeze was agreed.
The FIA would like to discuss with FOTA technicians how best to achieve equalisation in a way which is fair to all and involves minimal cost.

Re: F1 2009
To be honest, with the new regulations I suspect we'll see bigger perfromance differences. This year its been very close, and although Ferratri and McLaren are slightly quicker a number of teams, Renault, BMW and Torro Rosso, are quite close behind. Toyota are nearly there too. Unfortunately I think next year the big two will dominate as they have the resources to do so.

Re: F1 2009
Not sure, quite a few teams have poured a lot of resources into the development of their 2009 cars, whilst Ferrari and McLaren are fighting tooth and nail for this year's championship.
Force India for World Champ anyone???

The big boys are used to splitting resources and working on two cars concurrently. But i do feel for Kubica;he's been pleading/screaming for development of the F1.08 but BMW is concentrating on 09
