Grönholm is leading the first day of the New Zealand Rally. Vale Rossi is 24th at about 11 minutes.

Rossi said he didn't want to take risks on the first stage (unlike a few years back in England ) but will try later on the rally...

In the second day, Vale has gained 11 positions (now up in 13th) and in the last stage was only 3"6 behind Grönholm
