Yes, I accept that Jamie but in principle it is not that far apart IMO.

Didn't he start complaining about inferior equipment and treatment before the FIA case came to light? The claim isn't supported by his times in various sectors of tracks.

"Allegedly conspiring against the other driver" according to the slower/less winning driver.

Or have Alonso use Hamilton's car and give his mechanics time to correct change Alonso's settings.

What on earth will you be doing at 3am BF? If it's preferable to witnessing the two McLonalds wiping each other out at the first bend, I'd really like to know what it is!

I guess we'll have to agree to disagree, Jim. IMO, they're miles apart in principle.

Re: F1 2007 Season
Jamieboy, the difference you're stating seems to just be whether the second driver is a willing part of it.
If two football teams decided who would win an end-of-season clash in order to allow one of them to be champion, would that be OK as long as they were both happy with it?

A bit different, because there isn't a team championship and a player championship in football.
To try and fit the analogy:
Ferrari would be like all the players on one team trying to pass the ball to their best striker, so he can score loads of goals and the team will win.
McLaren would be like most of the players and the manager working out a game plan that left one of their two star strikers without a sight of the ball for the entire game and tying his laces together, so their other striker can score more goals than him regardless of whether their team wins or not.
That's a bit laboured, but it's the best I can do.
Ferrari strategy revolved around helping one of their drivers perform better than he might otherwise be able to.
McLaren are accused of making sure one of their drivers performs less well than he might otherwise be able to.
Rubens was asked to move over for Michael, but his car was never sabotaged to ensure that he was slower. That's the allegation Alonso is making, and to me that's a big difference between the two situations. Although as I keep saying, I don't think it's true.

Re: F1 2007 Season
How will the ban on team "orders" come into play on sunday, say if the following happened....
Massa leading Raikonnen with the 2 Mcs in low points scoring positions after a collision early on. Massa moves over and Raiks wins, winning title. Legal?
As for the Schumacher debate, he had the spare car set up all the time, first choice with strategy, and any experimenting with tyres etc.. done on team mates car. Apart from that what advantages did he get? He was a bloke who called the design team daily throughout the winter with his inputs and suggestions. He put the work in and was quickest in a high percentage of his races (v team mate).

I think I might miss it too, as I don't know if my nerves can take it - that and the rugby world cup finals

Nah, it's due to Ferrari cheating and putting a twin turbo in his car
