So, we all now know what we (at least the non-Brits on the forum ) thought:

“The problem was rain and his [Hamilton’s] tyres were in the worst condition,” Dennis said to a group of British journalists in the paddock at the circuit. “But we weren’t at all fazed about Kimi [Raikkonen, of Ferrari]. We weren’t racing Kimi, we were basically racing Fernando.”
There goes McLying's claim of impartiality.
Go Fernando, shunt Hamilton out at the first corner: you know you want to

Nothing like a bit of second hand info from a bloke who spoke to a fella who overheard a man telling someone he might have known a rumour that he think he may have heard.....

Fair point, but given Fernando's constant whining this year I can't actually blame Ron for wanting Hamilton to win the title. Hamilton is the ultimate PR dream, and nothing but good for Mclaren. He's kept calm through all the ups and downs of the year, backed the team up at all times and shown loyalty to the people who put him where he is today.
Fernando is the guy who tried to stitch up the team to suit his own ends, has constantly thrown his toys out of the pram because he's been upstaged by a rookie, and has had a hissy fit with the boss for months because he isn't given preferential treatment within the team.
In a way I hope Fernando does stay at Mclaren for next season. It'll be fun watching Lewis destroy him all over again.

I can't blame the Ronster either and in fact, I'd have made sure LH won the title. British car, British driver, German engine ... oh well, can't have everything in life, can you?

Re: F1 2007 Season
Well Prodrive have been confirmed as one of the 12 teams in f1 from 2008, so I guess it's more than possible that the Aston Martin name will appear on F1 grids someday soon.....

That'd be nice.
Always thought Ferrari should rebadge the engines for the other teams, Alfa Romeo

Yeah a Ferrari 'B' team? Always wanted that to happen, but I don't think so

They sort of had it with Scuderia Italia years ago but never really got anywhere.

The engines are designed and made in England (near Northampton) with german money.

I think it's too hard to say! Got to think that Massa will be back on form. But I expect the McLarens to be the faster car, so anyones guess really!
Potentially looking at a Ferrari 1-2 (given reliability) and who can say what to expect from Alonso Vs Hamilton!? It could get rough!

I do agree that there should be a big disparity between a win and 2nd, i didn't agree with changing the point system from how it used to be 10-6-4-3-2-1, but F1 has always rewarded the most consistant driver over the course of a season, not just the bloke who's fast but inconsistant.
Keke Rosberg won the World Championship with a single win in 1982 remember
Yeah, but 1982 was an exceptional year, with about 7 or 8 drivers winning races. Without looking it up, I believe that the maximum number of races any driver won was 3. Also, the points awarded was 9-6-4-3-2-1 during that season.
Personally I think a 4 point gap between 1st and second was too much.

To be honest I'm hoping that Kimi and Alonso take each other off

Re: F1 2007 Season
The old scoring system (9-6-4-3-2-1) was the best.

I do like 10-6-4-3-2-1 but I also think that scoring points to the top 8is a good idea.
Maybe 15-12-9-6-4-3-2-1 would work, plus a point for pole position.
Whatever we think, If Bernie and Max like things the way they are, then that's how they'll stay. No matter how shoddy F1 really is. We have been spoiled of late by these wet and changeable conditions that even the field out.
I only hope the 2008 regs do their job,so we can have some better racing in all conditions instead of just wet, but I won't hold my breath.
