I see Wurz is retiring - so will Ralf S go back to Williams?

Oh now
Ralf in the Williams would be such a waste. Send him to Nascar too

Re: F1 2007 Season
There's a lot of dissing of Kimi on here, and not much to do with his driving. I'd like to hear any of them give answers to interviewers questions, or handle a press conference with the media when speaking Finnish. Maybe one or two of them would sound 'boring and monosyllabic' too?
Out of the three contenders, he's the only one who has let his driving do the talking this year.

Maybe, but lets hope they wouldn't sound monotonous and monotone

To be honest I think out of the 3 title contenders Kimi is the one that deserves it the least (although I would prefer him to get it than Alonso). He's been very inconsistant, and overall I think Massa has outdriven him, but has suffered more mechanical problems too.

Indeed, NASCAR enjoys showing self important Ex-F1 drivers just how average they really are.

Re: F1 2007 Season
To be honest I think Kimi's driven very well the last couple of races; but at the beginning of the season he didn't appear to have any 'fight' in him and rather than try to overtake was content just to follow the car in front in procession.
Massa, on the other-hand, has shown willing throughout the season and although I'd prefer a British World Champion; I wouldn't have been to upset if Massa had won it

I agree - Kimi has driven better the last few races, but I would have prefered Massa than Kimi to win...

Re: F1 2007 Season
As you know, I don't care who wins, as long as it's either Kimi or Felipe. Any other driver who wins it will just leave me cold, I'm sorry to say. I was just passing my own opinion on those who criticise non-native English speaking people, when they don't express themselves as well as some native English speakers. Much worse concerning football, where so-called pundits actually LAUGH at the pronunciation of some foreign players or managers........... And this when they are incapable of speaking the Queen's English correctly themselves. I wasn't particularly making the comment about anyone on here, if that were what anyone was thinking what I said!

I think your point is valid, its all too easy to criticise non-native English speakers

Re: F1 2007 Season
I think we can all agree that the driver who ends up with the most points at the end of the year deserves it given the points scoring structure we have.
We can argue about driver's not having any 'fight' in them etc. but I don't buy into that analysis. I think we should look at the points structure for winners and the lower places to see where the problem lies. There should be a larger points difference between 1st and 2nd and possibly 2nd and 3rd to encourage racing. At present it is not in a drivers interest to fight if they have to 'nurse' home a car they know is not as fast as an opponents on a particular circuit.
i.e. the present points system encourages conservative driving. A simple thought experiment...one driver wins 10 grand prix and retires in 7. Another driver wins 1 grand prix and comes second in 10 grand prix and 3rd in another 2, retiring in a further 4. The champion is the driver who wins just 1 grand prix and not the driver who wins 10.

Re: F1 2007 Season
Kimi has retired twice because of technical fault (Spain, Europe), Felipe only once (Italy). Still Kimi has more points. I think Kimi is clearly number one in Ferrari.

So the the consistant guy who does a fantastic job all year wins the title, whers the quick but erratic fella who is fast but struggles to keep it on the tarmac doesn't.
Sounds like a fair system to me......

Re: F1 2007 Season
So HST in my thought experiment winning 10 grand prix out of 17 is not consistent compared with 1 win, 10 seconds and 2 3rds.
Just 3 more finishes than the guy who wins 10 races!! Still makes no sense to me...I say a bigger points difference between 1st and 2nd.

10 wins and 7 DNF's is inconsistant and not a particularly great record.
I do agree that there should be a big disparity between a win and 2nd, i didn't agree with changing the point system from how it used to be 10-6-4-3-2-1, but F1 has always rewarded the most consistant driver over the course of a season, not just the bloke who's fast but inconsistant.
Keke Rosberg won the World Championship with a single win in 1982 remember

Re: F1 2007 Season
But surely 1 win, 10 seconds and 2 thirds, 4 dnf's is only slightly better in the consistency stakes.
I think we agree HST. 10-6-4-3-2-1 is a better scoring system. I think when KR won his world championship it might have been 9-6-4-3-2-1 and far fewer grand prix.
But don't get me wrong....whoever wins this season will deserve it. It's been the most competitive season for a long time and may we look forward to many more Raikonnen-Hamilton-Alonso battles to be joined by Vettel-Kubica and hopefully Button.

You've basically described a number one and number 2 driver there.
One to go and chase, and the other to take the safe points.
