Looky Looky Petition to save the Monza track

According to the following page, races are getting cancelled at Monza, due to a court decree. Silencers would have to be fitted for cars or bikes to race on the track... Seriously.

Click here to sign the petition: http://www.petitiononline.com/m0nz4/petition.html

Here's a translation:
<<
To: Tribunal of Milan

MONZA RACES CANCELLED BECAUSE RACE CARS ARE TOO NOISY!

Expecting final decision of the Tribunal of Minal regarding the noise related to racing at the Monza track, [...] the Milano Automobile Club and the Sias have decided to cancel [...] races that were to take place on the week-end of the 19th of March.

Cancellation has been made necessary due to the November order by the Tribunal of Milan [...] (suspension of use of any vehicle not fitted with a silencer) [...].

In consequence the following races will not take place: Italian Touring Championship, Italian F3 Championship, Italian Proto Championship, Cadet Trophy Junior Monza, Superstars Trophy, F3000 Italia Championship.

Let's try to save that track, OUR TRACK, let's be many!

Sincerely,
>>

Re: Petition to save the Monza track

Ive signed up, but sadly there are only 6800 signatures so far, I love the place and hope to return again. I was lucky enough to have VIP F1 tickets in 1999, this was the year when Mika Hakkinen cried in a bush when he crashed out of the race. It was also the year that Jordan won Monza, those were happy days... But the next time I am in Milan, at least I will know I have to feed money to the tram meters as you get on, I was horrified to learn they were not free!

Re: Petition to save the Monza track

That is really sad, if you don't like the noise don't live or go near a racing circuit.
Didn't a similar thing (nearly) happen to a UK circuit...Combe I think?

Re: Petition to save the Monza track

I think it may have been Brands Hatch, there was a new housing estate built close by and residents complained of the noise.......don't buy a house near a bloody race circuit...MUPPETS.

BTW I've signed.

Definitlely happened at Brands Hatch, I think you can get cheap or free tickets to things if you live very close as some sort of compensation, I'd love to get a house near by!

Concidering the circuit has been there since the 20's/30's I think you are totally right, they should stop there bl00dy whinging!
