No, No. Even if he gets a good start it will not be a wash out, one horse race. Trust me on this one

Re: F1 2006 season
Well done Alonso! wernt half close out of the pits. Also Massa was so lucky not to wipe Alonso out!! wonder how close it actually was!
Not as many engine failures as I was expecting being that its a new lump!

Re: F1 2006 season
A race that was worth watching from start to finish
If the rest of the season is as good as this.......... then Formula One is back at the top of my sport watching list

Re: F1 2006 season
What a race. Gutted for MS Well done to future Ferrari WC Kimi. If he'd started higher I fear the race would have been his.
So close between Ferrari & Renault you couldn't fit a rizzla paper between them Should be a GREAT season.
The Ferrari pit crew need do sharpen up their act though (Massa incident).
Also, the rookie did a good job after an early balls up.
Looking forward to a 6AM wake up call next Sunday

Re: F1 2006 season
WOW! Fantastic absolutely fantastic race!!! Spectacular fighting comeback from Kimi he is so used to starting from the back. Alonso a true champion cool, calm and collected drive. And nico rosberg was just stunning…so much speed(had the fastest lap I think)….just unbelievable. He and Jenson were great to watch today. Brilliant.
One thing that I can’t quite fathom and I’m not pretending that I’m an expert but WHY was Juan Pablo so heavy on fuel he pitted on lap 23 I mean I can understand why Kimi started heavy but for him to sacrifice qualifying so much I just don’t get it.

Re: F1 2006 season
Alonso looked far from cool & calm when in traffic If he'd kept his hands on the wheel instead of all that waving he may have pulled out more of a lead
But I agree. A true champion, for now........

Re: F1 2006 season
Now that was a race
Rosberg was amazing, it's great to see a rookie set such blistering speeds.
The race for first place was a joy to behold, that scrap when Alonso was just out of the pits was brilliant
I'm so glad I was wrong and you were right PeterWolf

Yes to all of that!
I like Alonso. He's got the right mix of skill, passion and personality. Good to see him - and all the others - starting the season off so positively without some of the fannying around we've had previously with cars not ready and what have you.

Re: F1 2006 season
Us Dutchies got a right laugh: Christian Albers gave an interview in Hollands most read magazine, claiming he could be well up in midfield, opposed to last years drama in the Minardi.
Quali learned us that, compared to last year, the improvement was none. The race made it very clear: 0 laps. Well done! Even his team mate Monteiro came in 2nd to last. Seems like Albers really made a (yes ONE) step forward

Re: F1 2006 season
Great race, enjoyed the new qualifying as well. Good to see the Fezza's back on form, but it seems Alonso just has the edge at the monet. It's certainly shaping up to be a good season, certainly three contendors MS, FO, KR, perhaps even four JB.
Give Keke's young lad a few seasons and he will be up with them as well.

What i meant was that he controlled the race perfectly. There were no blue flags when he hit traffic and the waiving was understandable and it worked!! They noticed him and let him through. I can fully understand his frustration when you know how close it will be (and it was close) out of the pits. So you can’t afford to be stuck in traffic not even for a moment.
