Nico Rosberg in the interim Williams V8 set the fastest laptime of the day ahead of Rubens Barrichello and Jenson Button. He clocked 1:18.321 in last day of testing in Jerez. Not bad at all for a rookie

Re: F1 2006 season
And finally, Villeneuve looking good in the all new BMW Sauber clocking 1:17.230 at Catalunya Barcelona one second faster then the all new McLaren driven by Pedro De La Rosa which(surprise, surprise) developed an "oil pressure" problem on only lap 19.

Re: F1 2006 season
Ok, OK. As much as I love Ferrari, I had to laugh when Luca di Montezemolo claimed that Ferrari are a private team & not Manufacturer backed by Fiat He claims that Fiat do not give Ferrari F1 a penny
More here http://uk.sports.yahoo.com/25012006/...rari-fiat.html
Also worth a look is the vote on who will be the next world champion!
http://uk.sports.yahoo.com/f1/poll/index.html
Out of 56000 votes, 52%, me included, feel the old man in the red car will do it
Cheers,

Re: F1 2006 season
Reality is that FIAT is pretty cash strapped, so I wouldn't be so sure they subsidise Ferrari a great deal. They'll soon be out of the company once the IPO takes place.

I agree with you 100%. I don’t think FIAT has the legs to burn money on F1.

Re: F1 2006 season
Jenson Button has already started making threats and induces paranoia by saying that he would “pull no punches” to teammate Barrichello. Jens…mate, just drive the bloody car

Re: F1 2006 season
Two funny things happened during testing in Valencia: Valentino Rossi spun on his installation lap OK it was wet and you have got to give him credit for trying to mix it up with the rest of the boys..... and the McLaren driven by Kimi stopped on the track but the funny thing about that is the team saying it was a planned stop as they were conducting fuel system checks. They just will NOT admit an engine failure/malfunction etc. HAHAA Planned stop my a**

Re: F1 2006 season
The Renault boys are back with a vengeance. They are dominating the crap out of everyone and getting faster in Valencia. Even Heikki Kovalainen is right on the pace. Not only that but they are the most reliable thing on the track - Alonso and Kovalainen completed 144 and 163 laps respectively. Full respect to the champions they are blowing McLaren and Ferrari and co, out of the water.

Re: F1 2006 season
I can't wait for the season to begin it's always the highlight on a sunday evening to sit down and watch the GP's. I also can't wait for it to begin because I am off to the Italian Gp in September which should be good fun.
It does look like the new season will be a cracker of a one with new drivers and teams still sore after there poor performances they will have something to prove this year I think.

I feel exactly the same. I've got this feeling that it will be a great season (well for us fans). Lets wait and see if Max tries to ruin everything again

Re: F1 2006 season
I know, it hopefully will be good. What I can't understand is that Max was a race driver himself and yet he wants to ruin the spot by clouding everythign in safety for gods sake the guys go there to race at 200+ mph they know what they are getting into.

Re: F1 2006 season
I can't wait 'till this season kicks off. I'm planning my tattoo upgrade for Easter. A tri colour number 1 above my Ferrari shield and golden stars either side of the number 1. The question is how many shall I go for? 7 or 8?? Hopefully by easter I'll have a bit of an idea
PS. Being a Welshman, I got the three feathers / dragon on my right arm last year in anticipation of Wales winning the six nations
Good job I didn't do that this year
Cheers,
