Re: Moto GP

Cheers dude

The fan club partys usually start with a letter through my front door all in Italian!! Then i speak to a friend in Italy and he converts it to english and has every time said "feck if you want to go you have to go in 3 days" So its the mad rush of gettin a friday off, booking a flight, grabbing some mate's that are up for going and booking a rent a car that i'll end up sleeping in!

They are mad tho they shut the village and have all bars that only serve Nastro Azzuro and traditional food stalls put up that line the streets! they have a massive stage set up in the corner of the street that has his M1 on and a drum kit,Band etc, then seats in front just for his mates etc and then a small fence to keep all the mad Italians back including us!! In the day they have very loud dance/pop music playin and his dad sets up a big square shaped race track on infront of the church for Doughnuttin his M3 on which is entertaining!

As the night rolls in Italys most famous singer Vasco Rossi takes to the stage to sing etc for 2 hours then they have Italys best stand up comedians for a bit, by this time there are hundreds and hundreds of Italian's jumpin round singin etc but waitin for the moment Rossi Appears, Then the dance music comes back on and lots of people wander to the outskirts of the small village that sits on top of massive hills looking for Vale knowing he's close, all cars that approach are all mobbed thinking its him its mad!

He then appears on stage and you spend about 2 hours with him on talking you through each of his races whilst they play them on a giant screen its quality, He also had a live phone call video link up to Flavio Blitore (renault f1 boss) talkin about all that Ferrari f1 stuff, Then Rossi walked of the stage and spent 30 mins signin autographs and kissin all the girls before he headed into a small gazeebo with sides on,

me and my mate saw are chance and jumped the fence unzipped the tent and headed in obviously zipping it behind us, once inside we found ourselves huddled in this small tent with 2 film crew, 1 fit bird, 1 fat bloke?, and David Brivio (Head of Camel Yamaha) and the man himself Valentino Rossi!!!

Rossi was bein interviewed so we asked for a pic with brivio which he agreed with and asked why 2 english guys wer in his tent so we explained that we had come here to party with rossi, he was amazed and agreed that we could have a pic with the Doc once he had finished his interview, he finished and walked towards us so we asked for a pic, explained where we came from and why which he was well gratefull for, had the pics shook hands and told him that he would be 8 times world champ and he'd F*#K haydon off which he burst out laughing at!

We opened the tent walked out infront of hundreds of gobsmacked screaming Italians with Rossi following us as Rossi went one way and we went to the bar again wondering what the hell have we just done! Stumbled back to the car at 3amish.Only prob was it was all in Italian but it didnt matter as when we asked some1 what he said they simply told us and when they didnt understand us we just shrugged our shoulders and cracked open another beer

woke with a suprisingly cool head walked to rossi's cafe n bar to have a coffee n pasta, then spent an hour in the shops which are loaded with rossi stuff , then to his fanclub hq for a bit met and got a pic with his best mate Uccio and then got in the car and headed for the Airport but not before stopping by Maranello for look around!

All in all a F#*kin great experience

Re: Moto GP

Just as the race was about to start I was thinking "this 21 year old Pedrosa kid will be the next Rossi, he's got a lot of talent"

Re: Moto GP

And Elias does it by a whisker... (2 thousanths of a second to be precise)

So Vale is at +8 now.

Why can't F1 be this good
