Anyone off to the BTCC at Thruxton?

Next weekend sees the touring car clan going to Thruxton, Hamps. There is a facelifted 156 GTA (2.0???) making its debut this year.
Question is anyone going from here?....it would be nice to meet up. I am going for the weekend and will be there in the camping area with the caravan.

I might pop in on one of the BTCC races. Let's see how's it going to be this summer.

Re: Anyone off to the BTCC at Thruxton?

Saw one on the box the other day, about ten cars on the grid...all seemed to be Vauxhalls or Seats.A far cry from the mid 90's when touring car racing pulled in the crowds
Alfa/Ford/BMW battles every weekend while the Volvos bludgeoned their way through the pack leaving a trail of wrecked Nissans and anybody else who got in the way
Tis still better than F1 though,I'm afraid to say my patience is exhausted and after struggling to maintain consiousness during the first race this season I've not got a clue what is going on........even the newspapers don't always bother reporting race results these days

True, but there will be more cars through the season and we need to give it support, or it will not deliver.
I used to vouch for Vauxhall in the late 90's, the super touring era with the Vectra and I loved those times, not to mention the Cavalier days in the 80's. They were great times with 30 cars on the grid made up of different manufacturers. Those times should come back eventually though, as Alan Gow says.
