ehrr.. look again... the rules state that you can leave your driving line to defend your position ONCE
and if the 1997 incident is the latest you can come up with...
I so hate it when everybody refers to the late great Ayrton as a Class A driver, but at the same time seem to forget the stunts he used to pull.. even with his own team mates
Face it guys, like it or not , but MS is the greatest driver of his generation (7 world titles can't be wrong)

Re: F1 season 2005

Here here! Other drivers pull stunts just as good/bad but it seems only MS is ever lambasted for them.

Both Villeneuve and Monotya have been aggressive in the past......it's part of the sport.

btw...agree about footballers

Re: F1 season 2005

Heidfeld had no chance in that corner, he simply was too far away. Schumacher defended his place a bit too agressive imho, but maybe he did that on purpose. He had nothing to gain in the race and by not finishing he is allowed to use a brand new engine at the next race

Ok, maybe its IRL which bans ALL blocking - but MS had already moved to his left when he then dived to his right as he noticed Nick going for the (gap)

and if the 1997 incident is the latest you can come up with...
loads more - but not with at much at stake

Who defended Senna - Senna was the dirtiest of his generation - like MS

Re: F1 season 2005

Good race today between both BMW drivers and R Shumy. Bit more good action between Webber and Fisi. Ferraris were nowhere. Luckily M Shumy got a couple of points. 2005 Ferrari needs to be bought in asap if they're going to have any chance this season methinks. Poor old BAR. Retired both cars on the last lap in OZ to get new engines and this time both cars out by lap 3!!! What goes around comes around IMO.

Lovely to see M. Shoemaker being lapped by that white Corolla.
"Hah!" I shouted.

Re: F1 season 2005

It just proves how much its the car you have rather than how good a driver you are that decides if you are going to make it in F1

Good race overall, if you ignore 1st & 2nd.

Jenson looked quick enough to cause some aggro near the front & then his & Ant's engines die.....coincidence?

Webber braking on the outside line to the final turn was awesome - he should have used that line all race - Fisi & Ralf were much nearer the racing line, braking 10m earlier & still couldn't stop as quickly. I thought Mark was a touch unlucky - he gave a fair bit of space to each of them and got rammed twice.......although cutting across an out of control car doesn't give much room for error. Since he also nearly had a near miss with Coulthard on lap 1, and Heidfeld & Ralf a few times on one lap tho', perhaps he should have been more careful

High points of the race for me..Michael being caught be Klien at the end....cars actually overtaking.

don't mention Z4

Re: F1 season 2005

Yes a great race today at Imola - and fair play to Alonso for not cracking under the pressure - looks like an interesting F1 season this year at last
