A few guys from the Trial Drivers Club I am a (rookie!) member of gave a demonstration of Autotesting / Gymkhana today as an added attraction for Mondello JapFest 2010.

The big guy driving the Westfield is Ronnie Griffen who was once kind enough to give a few lessons to myself and a couple of friends in the basics of the sport.
He is simply a genius behind the wheel.
Robert Kinsella in the Altessa isn't bad either! You know he must be good if Ronnie is putting his kneecaps on the line..

..anyway its a good watch, and very funny too!

Apparently Russ Swift was supposed to do it, but pulled out at the last minute.
These guys were roped in only the day before, having to borrowing cars from mates etc at short notice.

Fantastic fun, I have actually done 'Parallel Parking' (albeit between two inflatable cars) and 'J Turns' with Paul Swift on a couple of occasions.
Sue (Shusky) has had the pleasure of being the passenger when Paul Swift has danced the car around the track.

I've competed against Ronnie Griffen on the 08 Classic Speedfair rally at Knockhill, he's nuts!. He had borrowed somebodies car with some ditch finder tyres on it. He had me worried when he started warming them up before a test..... by spinning them them up with his foot on the brakes.... when he was three feet behind me in the que!

He pops upon this Video about half way through, red car. I thought it was a Kedatt from memory but think it's a Sunbeam in the Vid???

He is a bit of a character allright, hilariously direct sense of humour

Yup that's the car, it looked like a Sunbeam in the grainy video, wasn't has well prepared as it looks in that shot though, perhaps he'd only just got it or something. The three Irish lads that pop up in our NESCRO series from time to time are all damned good though and a lot of fun, Noel Cochrane (Blue Midget), Paul Mckenna (SP) (TVR) and Ronnie, I think they all appear in that clip.

Yup, I certainly enjoy it, not sure if the GTV's do (I have two) they take a bit of hammer.
