The Team with the Most money is winning and has done so for several years.

The one engine rule has reduced the number of laps on practise days which again reduces the entertainment.

Like Rossi in the MotoGP, Schumacher is helping to destroy the Sport he dominates.
Luckily Rossi was smart enough to move to a different Team.

Long live Formula Bore Slot car racing aka F1.
Stori,

I guess nothing beats Indycar or CART racing when it comes to entertainment

Re: Formula 1 season has started!

Well,

F1 is a beautiful anticlimax, gorgeous sights and sounds and plenty of scenery, but
it's all over by the time those red lights go out...

Give me the British Touring car championship any day - ticket prices are infinately
more reasonable (about £25 for the day) http://www.btccpages.com/ is the home.

Great day out and plenty of nose to tail, and side to side - remeber this is a "non"
contact sport ;-)

They may have the most but it's not by much, Toyota's budget is within a few million and they are not exactly up there with Ferrari

Been a Ferrari fan for years and thought last years season was great but after this race I hope we're not in for another Ferrari walkover.

Idea Re: Formula 1 season has started!

Am I the only one who enjoyed the race yesterday? Yes, I know it was a walkover, but I marvel at the absolute speed of there cars and the skill of the drivers. They seem to travel faster than a person can think. Makes those V8 supercars seem so slow...

Re: Formula 1 season has started!

I enjoyed the race as well. Hey if Ferrari keeps on winning like this then it's the other teams fault for not being as good. Short of Schumy retiring there's no one as good as the MS/Ferrari combo. Mind you, there's 17 more races to go and anything could happen. We will all get a better idea of the Bridgestone tyres in Malaysia - I think it will be more evenly matched myself.

If you think about it, if Schumy hadn't broken his leg in 1999 he probably would have won that year as well and be 7 times World Champion already.

BTW, I love BTCC & ETCC as well.

I agree, it's far more exciting racing than F1. Just wish they did a decent job of televising it
A the moment it's a choice between watching it on Motors TV with naff commentary, or on ITV in three weeks time, maybe, if we can be bothered and the tiddly-winks championship doesn't clash with it

Hans,

Sorry have to disagree with you. Oval racing is very exciting. F1 just can't match up to oval racing when it comes to close racing. By the way, the indy racing league is all about oval racing, the CART championship has only (if my latest information is correct) racing circuits and no ovals......and that's also a lot more exciting than F1 is.

Well I agree that F1 is faster than V8 supercars but they sound like angry hornets.
I enjoy all that pushing and shoving that we get with the V8's.
F1 is good for a snooze as there is almost no passing at all

I have never been a F1 Ferrari fan. (liked the Dino and 308 road cars )

Enzo Ferrari was Mr Obnoxious himself.
He even accused Alfa Romeo of pinching his car design

Now let's bring back Alfa Romeo to F1

Hans,

You're totally right! It's not the fault of Ferrari that they are so quick. It's the fault of Williams and McLaren not doing their homework well. I truelly hope for Kimi that McLaren can get their act together and give him a competitive car for the rest of the season so he can win the championship.

If not, than I truelly hope for Ferrari to thrash everybody and put in some new records. Because, then that's exactly what McLaren and Williams deserve (and mind you, I truelly don't like Shuey and Ferrari, but at least they've got their act together).

I don't need no one to tell me about heaven, I look at my son and daughter and I believe.

Hopefully with MR TOCA back at the helm this year things will start getting better w.r.t to TV, the three shot short race format will make TV a lot more interesting as two of the races are based on an inverted grid i.e loads of overtaking. Season kicks off on the 10th, and I'm trying to do at least 4 meetings this year...

I'm thinking about camping on the circuit for the Oulton park one with wife and sprog, have to see how things progress this year.....

I have been to a race in Melbourne Australia where they ran Nascars on an oval.
They were fast and noisy and when an accident happened it was so fast you did not really comprehend what was happening until it was almost over. Cars just going every where
