Tribute

Dear All,

Following the recent untimely death of Henry Surtees (a local lad), I have arranged for those who wish, to go to Brands Hatch on Thursday 30/7/09 and lay some flowers (or any personal tribute they wish) on behalf of AO members and AROCKES at Clarke Curve.

Details of the tribute will be provided at the Moat Public House, A20

from: 51.305184,0.330995 to: A20/London Rd - Google Maps where we will meet at 7.30pm PROMPT.

We will then leave in convoy at 7.45pm and drive to Brands. I have arranged with the management there to allow us in where we will make our way to Clarke Curve. Here we will lay some flowers and take a minutes silence. NB due to restrictions we will be unable to go on to the circuit, but I think the management are to be commended in letting us attend at such short notice.

We will then return to the Moat together where cars will park up. On a given signal all cars will rev their engines for 10 seconds and switch off . I feel this is an appropriate way to mark Henry's passing.

Can I please encourage as many of you as possible to attend. We have also contacted Lancia and Ferrari owners clubs who will also be welcome to attend.

Not wishing to hijack your thread Der Teufel (and well done for organising it) but if people cannot make the tribute at Brands, there will also be a tribute to Henry at the F2 at Donnington Park on the 15/16 August.
