There are plenty of instances where people have been sacked from their jobs because of things that they have done when out of work.
Unless they are schizophrenic people don't change as soon as 'office hours' are over.
Max Mosely represents an international, high profile, body.
Although I haven't got any empirical evidence to hand I think its likely that his acts are outside what is considered 'the norm'. It seems at the very least he has lied to the people who love him the most (his family) and his actions in denying that there is anything wrong with what he has done merely demonstrates his arrogance and ignorance.
His failure to 'do the decent thing' and resign further demonstrates the unsatisfactory nature of his character.
